V. TENNIS RULES
Generally the Racquets Committee or its Tennis Director will have charge of the tennis program and will, in collaboration with the Tennis Professional and Manager, have cognizance over the maintenance of the courts, Pro Shop and backboard, the employment of tennis personnel and such other matters as relate to tennis activities.
A. All members, their families and guests are required to register attendance by signing in with the tennis staff. Guests may not use the athletic facilities more than one time during a month
B. Guest fees: $10.00 per person per day
C. Tennis Hours
MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
8:30 – 10:00 Ladies Clinics/Adult Play
10:00 – 11:30 Junior Tennis Team
**11:30 – 5:00 Adults and Junior
5:00 – 8:00 Adults or Family
**Court maintenance is from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Mon, Tues. and Thurs. and from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wed. and Fri.
SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS
7:30 – 9:30 Adult Morning Play
9:30 – 12:30 Adults / Family
12:30 – 1:30 Court Maintenance
1:30 – 9:00 Open Play by Reservation
During adult/junior time which is 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, juniors may sign up for courts but adults will have priority up until the reserved time starts. After the reserved time starts the junior may maintain the court until the reservation time is over.
D. Court reservations can be booked via the website (www.edgeworthclub.com) or by calling the Pro Shop (412) 741-8502) and cannot be made more than three days in advance.
E. The cleanliness of the courts and surrounding area is essential to the well-being of the tennis program. Tennis players and others in the area are at all times requested to put their trash into the proper receptacles.
F. Any person who is unable to play during a reserved hour must cancel his/her reservations. Persons who repeatedly fail to cancel unused reservations may have their playing privileges suspended.
G. Proper tennis attire is cream or white. Colored trim and pinstripes are acceptable. T-shirts are acceptable only for players 17 and under (they must be tennis related). Members 18 years and older are not permitted to wear t-shirt. White smooth soled shoes are required. Warm-ups and sweaters may be any color. Over-all impression of the outfit must be white. The Dress Code is in effect at all times, even if the Pro Shop is not manned.
H. Tennis Rules/Guest Violation Fines
Members violating any tennis rules or guest policies will be subject to a fine at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Such fines shall be billed to Member’s Edgeworth Club Account as follows:
First Violation: $100.00
Second Violation: $200.00
Third Violation: $300.00
VI. PADDLE TENNIS RULES
Generally, the Racquets Committee will have charge of the paddle tennis program and will, in collaboration with the Tennis Professional and Manager, have cognizance over the maintenance of the paddle tennis courts.
A. All members, their families and guests are required to register attendance by signing in with the paddle tennis staff, when on duty, or at the front desk on nights and weekends. Guests may not use the athletic facilities more than one time during a month.
B. Guest fees: $10.00 per person per day
C. Rules regarding priority of play and other matters pertinent to the running of the Paddle Tennis Program each year are considered by the Racquets Committee and posted on the Paddle Tennis Bulletin Board.
D. Court reservations can be booked via the website (www.edgeworthclub.com) or by calling the Front Desk (412 741-8500) and cannot be made more than three days in advance.
E. The Racquets Committee or its Paddle Tennis Designate may reserve the courts for tournaments or other special paddle tennis events.
F. Lights must be turned off at the conclusion of play.
G. For paddle tennis parties, one member may reserve three courts within one time period. This privilege is available Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. No splitting of time periods is permitted. Guest fees apply to non-member guests at paddle tennis parties.
H. NO OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGES ARE TO BE BROUGHT ONTO CLUB PROPERTY DURING NORMAL OPERATING TIMES. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited from being brought in at any time per the Club liquor policy.
I. Any person who is unable to play during a reserved hour must cancel his/her reservation. Persons who repeatedly fail to cancel unused reservations may have their playing privileges suspended.
J. Paddle Tennis Rules/Guest Violation Fines
Members violating any paddle tennis rules or guest policies will be subject to a fine at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Such fine shall be billed to Member’s Edgeworth Club Account as follows:
First Violation: $100.00
Second Violation: $200.00
Third Violation: $300.00
VII. SQUASH RULES
Generally, the Racquets Committee or its Squash Director will have charge of the Squash program and will in collaboration with the Manager have cognizance over the Squash Courts and such other matters as relate to squash activities.
A. All members, their families and guests are required to register attendance by signing in at the front desk. Guests may not use the athletic facilities more than one time during a month.
B. Guest fees: $10.00 per person per occurrence.
C. Rules regarding priority of play and other matters pertinent to the running of the squash program each year are considered by the Racquets Committee and posted on the squash bulletin board.
D. The Racquets Committee or its Squash Director, may reserve the courts for tournaments or other special squash events.
E. Squash Courts are open for play from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. every day. The key for the courts is kept at the front desk and should be returned to the desk when the courts are closed.
F. Court reservations may be made one week in advance. The squash reservation book will be kept at the front desk.
G. Squash courts are not to be used for any other sport or activities (i.e. tennis and racquetball).
H. Any person who is unable to play during a reserved hour must cancel his/her reservation. Persons who repeatedly fail to cancel unused reservations may have their playing privileges suspended.
I. Shoes with non-marking soles must be worn at all times.
J. Squash Rules/Guest Violation Fines
Members violating any squash rules or guest policies will be subject to a fine at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Such fines shall be billed to Member’s Edgeworth Club Account as follows:
First Violation: $100.00
Second Violation: $200.00
Third Violation: $300.00
